The bagle worm has wriggled its way into the open sauce community with the latest versions of the worm carrying unencrypted source code for anyone to play with. Two versions, Bagle.ad and Bagle.ae, were rolled out over the weekend, and both are similar to earlier variants, except that they have the source code provided with them. Security analysts reckon this is a two pronged plan because if the writers are arrested with the code on their PC they can claim that they were victims just like everyone else.
The other advantage of the open source tactic is that less-sophisticated hackers can do some damage without having to do all the work, so the worm outlives its creator.
Parece que 'abrir o código' realmente é vantagem prá todo mundo, né mesmo?
